Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Where is Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness located?

Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness is a Massachusetts-based, 100% telehealth private psychiatry practice. We do not have a physical office or in-person location. All appointments are conducted securely online, allowing you to receive care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

What ages do you see?

Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness provides psychiatric mental health services for adults age 18 and older.

Do you accept insurance?

Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness is currently a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. We understand that cost and access are important considerations, and we are currently in the process of pursuing insurance credentialing, including with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Harvard Pilgrim.

If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your individual insurance plan, and we cannot guarantee coverage.

We also offer a limited number of income-based sliding-scale appointments when available.

How much do appointments cost?

Our fees are based on the length and type of appointment. Initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management visits are priced according to the time and level of care needed.

We believe in clear, upfront pricing and will discuss fees before beginning treatment. Please visit our Pricing page for current rates.

Do I need a referral?

No. A referral is not required to schedule a consultation or become a patient at Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness.

Do you offer a complimentary consultation?

Yes. We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation for prospective clients who would like to learn more about Whole Path, ask questions, and determine whether the practice may be a good fit for their needs.

The complimentary consultation is a one-time service for prospective clients and is not an ongoing appointment or substitute for a psychiatric evaluation. A consultation does not establish a treatment relationship.

If Whole Path feels like a good fit, we can discuss scheduling an initial psychiatric evaluation and what to expect from treatment. If our practice is not the right fit for your needs, we may also be able to help you identify other appropriate resources or levels of care.

Do you provide therapy?

Psychotherapy is not offered as a substitute for ongoing, long-term therapy. When appropriate, appointments may incorporate brief therapeutic interventions, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral strategies, DBT techniques, psychoeducation, and other supportive approaches. We also collaborate with existing therapists and can help connect clients with therapy resources when needed.

Do you prescribe controlled medications?

Schedule II medications, including stimulant medications, are not prescribed through Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness. Other controlled medications may be considered when clinically appropriate, generally on a short-term basis with appropriate monitoring.

Do you prescribe stimulants for ADHD?

No. Whole Path Psychiatry and Wellness does not prescribe stimulant medications. We can, however, evaluate and treat ADHD using appropriate non-stimulant medication options and other evidence-based strategies.

Do you provide neuropsychological testing for ADHD?

No. We do not provide neuropsychological testing. If testing would be helpful as part of your evaluation or treatment, we can help connect you with appropriate resources.

Can you work with my existing therapist or other healthcare providers?

Yes. With your permission, we can collaborate with your existing healthcare providers to support coordinated care and ensure that your treatment plan fits within the larger picture of your health and wellbeing.

Do you treat substance use concerns?

Yes. We can provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Treatment is individualized based on your needs, goals, and overall clinical picture.
